Different Types of Welded Wire Mesh

Welded wire mesh is made of intertwined metal wires welded at equal intervals to create a barrier. Welded wire mesh is used in arrays for small to large projects. It enhances the structural integrity of the concrete. Welded wire mesh acts as a durable core for concrete. Concrete eventually becomes brittle and breaks down, but wire mesh greatly extends the life of the concrete. They are ideal for temporary or permanent partitioning.

Depending on the application, welded wire mesh is created in different types and styles. These wires fall into several categories depending on the welding process and the different types of materials used in their construction. They can also be customized according to the needs and requirements.

Different types of welded wire mesh

Welded wire mesh

This type of wire mesh can be used in rolls or panels for fencing. They are pre-constructed prior to application. It is available with or without galvanization. The non-galvanized versions are less costly. They are easy to install, especially when retrofitting decks on buildings. The rolls are customized to your specifications, require minimal or no cutting, and can usually be installed by one or two skilled people.

Wire mesh rolls are ideal for larger linear lens coverage jobs that require crews and professional installers. There are other materials such as posts, rings, pliers, and everything else needed to install the fence. The panel is pre-built in a fixed shape and size to fit the structure it is being used on. It can be easily disassembled and reused.

Welded wire fencing cannot be cut to traditional standards because it is a thick steel fence that requires torches and labor to penetrate. Welded wire fencing is one of the most stable fencing structures on the market because it is made of steel and the actual posts that support it are installed in the ground as deep as the concrete footing. It is used in residential commercial, agricultural and industrial applications.

PVC welded wire mesh

This type of mesh is coated with a fine PVC powder to prevent corrosion. The plastic coating protects the base metal and gives the finished product its color. These types of mesh offer good corrosion resistance and quality not normally found in ordinary wire mesh.

Welded wire mesh panels made from PVC provide excellent quality, sturdiness, and durability. PVC-coated and painted welded wire mesh is resistant to corrosion, aging, sunlight, and weathering. It can be used in agriculture, construction, transportation, mining, and other buildings for protection, safety isolation, livestock feeding, decoration, etc.

Welded Stainless Steel Wire Mesh

This type of mesh is formed by welding stainless steel together at intersections to form a uniform steel barrier. It provides strength and longevity for the user. Stainless steel welded wire mesh has a uniform appearance. It is one of the most popular forms of wire mesh. Its wires are joined by resistance welding rather than filler metal, resulting in a strong, consistent product.

It can be cut into smaller sizes, such as rectangles, squares, or discs. Stainless steel wire mesh strainer is widely used because it never reacts with the fluid, so this improves its longevity and performance. It is widely used in transportation, agriculture, mining, horticulture, recreation, and other service industries.

Galvanized Welded Wire Mesh

Galvanizing can be done before or after wire mesh manufacturing - either in woven or welded form. After welding or weaving is complete, the wire mesh is dipped into a molten zinc bath. The zinc bonds to the wire surface, completely sealing and preventing rust and corrosion. It can be accomplished by galvanizing, in which electricity is used to bond the zinc to the wire below, or by hot dipping, in which the product is dipped into a galvanizing bath filled with molten zinc at a temperature of approximately 450° C.

One of the main advantages of galvanized wire mesh is that it tends to be available in a variety of opening sizes and diameters. It is used on wire mesh for a variety of applications in the finished product. From amenity fencing to heavy industrial areas.
